Banana Walnut Cake-in-a-Mug

Here's a cake recipe to satisfy that sudden craving for having something sweet.. Its fresh, its hot and its healthy! This recipe is also a great recipe to impress your friends at a party.. Just prep the mixture in individual mugs and just minutes before its ready to serve desserts, microwave your cake and the cakes are ready to serve!

Baking Powder1/8 tsp
Baking Soda1/8 tsp
Brown Sugar2 tbsp
Milk1 tbsp
Plain Flour3 tbsp
Ripe Banana1
Salt1/8 tsp
Sugar1 tbsp
Vanilla Extract1/4 tsp
Vegetable oil2 tbsp

Method :
  1. Coat a microwave safe coffee mug with 1 tbsp of vegetable oil.
  2. In the mug, whisk the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, brown sugar, salt, crushed walnuts, baking powder and baking soda) together. 
  3. Then add the wet ingredients (egg, vanilla, oil, milk and mashed banana) and combine the mixture.
  4. Place the mug in the microwave for 3 minutes on full power. 
  5. Enjoy your hot fresh cake-in-a-mug in just 3 minutes!

  1. Use a microwave safe bowl instead of a mug if you find it more convenient to mix the ingredients in a wide-mouth bowl.
  2. Reduce the sugar if your banana is very ripe and sweet in itself. 
  3. You can check the cake at half time (90 seconds) and then let it cook for another 90 seconds. 
  4. Serving suggestion : Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
