Raw Mango Chutney

Mango season is here! So, here's bringing you a mango recipe.. This time it's raw mango. And the recipe is tangy.. its spicy and it will tingle your taste buds.. We made it to enjoy it with akki roti and they are a great match. Enjoy it with steamed rice cakes (idli) or pancakes (dosa).


Ingredients:
1/2 cup raw mango, chopped
1 cup grated coconut
1/8 tsp turmeric powder
1 inch, ginger chopped
4 green chilies, chopped
1/4  tsp tamarind paste
Coriander leaves
Water as needed
Salt as needed

For tempering:
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Asafoetida, a pinch
15 curry leaves
1 tsp urad dal
1 tbsp oil

Method:
  1. Grind: Grind all the ingredients apart from the ingredients from tempering with water and salt as needed.
  2. Temper: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, urad dal and asafoetida. Pour this mixture over the chutney that has been ground. 

Notes:
  1. Adjust spice (green chilies) as per taste.
  2. This chutney is a great combination with Akki Roti, Idli or dosa.
